Fern Creek Optimist Club's Winter Cheerleading program provides a fun, energetic, and positive introduction to cheerleading. Participants will learn cheers, chants, motions, jumps, basic dance routines, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship in a supportive recreational environment. Whether your child is trying cheerleading for the first time or looking to continue building their skills, our program focuses on having fun, making friends, and developing confidence both on and off the floor. Program Information 📣 Open to all skill levels. 📣 No tryouts or cuts—every participant is placed on a team. 📣 Learn cheers, chants, motions, jumps, basic dance, and performance skills. 📣 Teams practice one evening each week. 📣 Cheerleaders perform at select Fern Creek Optimist Jr. NBA Basketball games throughout the season. Fern Creek Optimist Club's Jr. NBA Basketball program provides boys and girls with a fun, organized, and positive basketball experience focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or returning for another season, every player has the opportunity to learn, improve, and enjoy the game in a supportive environment. Our recreational league is open to players ages 3–18, with divisions based on each player's age as of July 31st. Age Divisions 🏀 4U – 4 years old & under 🏀 6U – 6 years old & under 🏀 8U – 8 years old & under 🏀 10U – 10 years old & under 🏀 14U – 14 years old & under 🏀 18U – 18 years old & under Divisions may be adjusted based on registration numbers to provide the best experience for all participants. Program Information • Open to boys and girls of all skill levels. • Every registered player is placed on a team. • 4U & 6U divisions focus on introducing the fundamentals of basketball through instruction, practice, and game play. • Players in the 8U–18U divisions participate in evaluations before teams are formed to help create balanced teams. • Teams typically practice one evening per week, with games played on Saturdays throughout the season. • Older divisions conclude the season with a single-elimination tournament.
